2012 Hill Climb Championship Course

For the 2012 Irish Hill Climb Championships, the course will be based out of Glendalough, County Wicklow. At 10 kilometers long, it is the longest hill climb Championship to date in Ireland - over the 10 kilometers, the riders will climb 536 vertical meters.

Without long steep sections, the course is easily accomplishable by any reasonably fit rider - you don't have to be a racer to enjoy this one.

The first segment (6.4 kilometers - the Wicklow Gap), has been used many times in Irish and International races including the Ras and Tour de France.

There is lots of parking available in both Glendalough/Laragh as well as on the top of the Wicklow Gap.

For spectators, it is easy to mark at the top of the Wicklow Gap and see the riders as they pass by on the way to completing the final 3 kilometers.

The Glendalough Hotel are kindly supporting this event and Race HQ will be based from the hotel.
